Attempt to de***** customers

I acquired a Sony Xperia Z3 compact from Vodacom approximately 3 months ago. The phone has had intermittent charging issues and screen not turning back for long periods.

Last week the phone stopped working completely. Against my better judgement I went into your Tygervalley store to have the phone booked in as it is within it's Warranty period.

Today your store informed me the warranty is void because there is a crack on the corner of the screen. By crack, they referring to a hairline mark no longer than 3mm therefore - warranty is void. The quote refers to clear issues with the battery, when I asked what a mark on the screen has to do with an internal function relating to the power on the phone, the manager told me that I may have talked on the phone while it was charging OR under or over charged the phone however she really does not have a clue what's wrong with it, but there is a mark on the screen so it's physical damage, pay or no repair-warranty void.

***** is deliberate deception to secure unfair or ******** gain. Vodacom's obvious choice to ignore logic to ensure that a warranty is not honoured is indicative of what a once great brand has become.
