@Vodacom - I dare you to resolve my billing dispute by the 23 October 2020
On Friday 22 August I added a new number to my Vodacom account for my daughter. I specifically went to Vodaworld thinking that this is where I would get the best options and service. Two hours later (that's right, 2 hours), I walked out with a new iPhone, Airpods and sim card. Monday morning I had to return because the sim card had not activated properly. That was quickly resolved. However, after querying the invoices, Vodacom had erroneously billed me for R4648 worth of fictitious data charges for a SIM card that had not even been activated/used. The following month I got a ridiculous series of invoices that amounted to double the amount of my regular expected billing (including this new contract). I subsequently stopped the debit order and paid the amount that I estimated was due. The following month my account was debited for R17k! which I subsequently reversed. I made the trip to Vodaworld again to try and resolve the billing issue and to pay the correct amount that should have been due. After almost 2 hours again, I had a dispute reference number and I had again paid what was due (after agreeing this with the consultant). If anyone at Vodacom reads this review, the reference number is provided on this platform. I have tried on a few occasions now to call Vodacom and have yet to speak to an agent who can get past me giving them my ID number, never mind trying to get them to correctly take down the reference number. And let's not even go into the ridiculous IVR routine that is simply buying time; it is clear that none of the info (ID or cell number) you provide upfront makes its way to the agent. So after spending numerous hours trying to resolve this matter without success, I am taking to social media platforms in the hope that someone/anyone at Vodacom who can actually resolve this issue will contact me to do so. Vodacom is now harassing me and my family on a daily basis with automated phone calls asking us to make a promise of payment. I forgot to mention... I have been a loyal customer for 20+ years.
