***** at Vodacom

I have been living in the UAE for 18 months now, but I kept my Vodacom Sim card for when I am in SA and it is on the lowest package. I pay R66 a month and there is a debit order set up for it. In December 2023, someone upgraded my contract and bought an iPhone Pro Max on my account and I now have an outstanding amount of R34 000. My sim card was in a drawer next to my bed in the UAE. When I called Vodacom to query this, they have said that 'Oh dear, they will look into it.' When I asked if the phone was signed for or how did they get a copy of the ID, she did not know. I spent almost half an hour on the phone, most of it being on hold. In a country filled with *******ion, surely there should be more vigilance. I am not expected to pay for something firstly, I did not know about and secondly, I did not authorise. Come on Vodacom, do better!
