Ask inappropriate "security" questions

I phoned into Vodacom to cancel my account, and was asked a highly inappropriate security question: do you own property. This is inappropriate for a couple reasons:

1. Vodacom cannot know the answer to this, in fact I just sold my property so the correct answer was "no". Vodacom had no way of knowing the answer to the question. Which means it's a damn stupid question.

2. Since Vodacom cannot know the answer, it's clearly NOT a security question, and is a marketing question being dressed up as security question, a clear violation of the Protection of Personal Information Act.

Additionally, they also wanted to know WHERE I was emigrating to (the reason I was cancelling my account). Why is it Vodacom's business where I'm going to?

The questions being asked are intrusive, add no value to security, and in fact are the kinds of things ********* would want to know, not a supposedly reputable company.

Don't put in your reply that we must beware of phishing ****s when your own consultants are asking highly phishing like questions.

I'm an application security expert and these questions are inappropriate, dangerous, *********, and *******. Just stop ****** asking them!
