ARROGANT Vodacom's ITC Listing Nightmare on a Settled Contract

On the 13th April 2016 I went into a Vodacom Store in Menlyn to Pre-Cancel my contract, paid R4008.60.

I then requested a Settlement Letter as proof that I've settled and closed the accout.

I received the letter on the 15th April 2016.

Fast forward, on the 2nd August 2016 I recevied a Statement from Vodacon saying that I have defaulted on my account, about R900.00, but funny enough nothing was going off my account, no debit at all.

I tried calling to resolve this, to clarisy this matter, no help at all.

My experience, when you call into Customer Care, you get transferred from one department to another, Collections, Accounts, Legal, Cancellations, all their consultants gives you different stories. While every time you call, there's no note from your previous calls whereas they say all calls are recorded. What's even worse is that most of the time you want solutions/answers calls get dropped, at times they make you hold for a so called 'SUPERVISOR' who gives you attitude and promise you that your query will be resolved, never.

With a settlement letter being issued, I logged a dispute with Transunion, then Vodacom insisted that I am a defaulter and I owe them. I took the issue up with the Credit Ombudsman, still they insisted that I owe and have defaulted.

Through a sister from church who works there, assisted me with chasing this matter. Still in a way they wanted me to keep calling their useless departments, but she persuaded them to resolve this because I was right and they had to service my request with urgency.

On the 22nd March 2017, I received another Settlement Letter from Vodacom confirming that the account was Settled and Closed in April 2016. Now this is almost a year.

Part of the content of their letter is still the same as the 1st one. They still want me to wait days before removing me on ITC. Such listings remain there for 24 months by the way.

How arrogant can this Service Provider be? The pain of not being able to be afforded any Credit either for a Car or a House, just because of being wrongly listed, try all avenues and still nothing happens.

So, for one to get assistance, they must be connected from within?

The fact that they have lots of customers make them so arrogant and not to care about anyone. They'll tell you about their turnaround times and processes. Very quick to list without facts but takes months to rectify their mistakes.

Most painful part is that most consumers in situations like myself don't have the time, energy or resources to fight for their rights.
