Arrogant and condescending Vodacom "Customer Care" Staff. Nonkululeko.

Part 1: So I called Vodacom "Customer Service" about three months ago, to completely cancel the ongoing funds being deducted from my account for a number that I no longer have access to. These funds have continued to be deducted, and Vodacom has completely ignored my request. Part 2: Today (9 December 2023 @ 10:39 - call lasting for 15 minutes and 53 seconds), I called "Customer Service" again to cancel those ongoing funds, as well as convert my long-term number to a pay-as-you-go. Please note that this conversation occurred in a Vodacom shop in Tygervalley Mall. I spoke to an operator called "Nonkululeko", who initially seemed very helpful: 1. He told me that the ongoing deduction for the number I am no longer using is for "benefits", which allowed me to keep the number (which I have told Vodacom previously that I no longer have access to!). I repeatedly tried to tell him that I no longer have access to this number and I DID NOT NEED THESE BENEFITS; however, he kept interrupting me. Eventually, we got that settled. 2. Then I went on and tried to explain to him that now that my device has been paid off, I would like to opt out of the recurring monthly data and minute subscription, and I would like to convert to prepaid. He immediately started interrupting me!!!!!!!, telling me about this plan and that plan, and even though I tried to explain to him I did not want to go onto any plan again, I wanted to go to pay as you went. He then said that I CALLED HIM, and I SHOULD LISTEN TO HIM, as he is the customer care advisor, and he was trying to help me, and that I should not tell him what I wanted. I cannot grasp the audacity that this man has in telling me this. 3. The Vodacom employees in the shop told me that I should remind him that the call was being recorded, and I did just that. I reminded him that I was the customer, that I called customer services for a reason (to convert to pay as you go), and that he should stop interrupting me and let us get on with the process, to which he rep****: • "I am the customer services; I have given you time to tell me what you want; now it is time for you to listen to me", • "If you are in the shop, why did you call me and not ask the shop employees to assist you with cancelling the ongoing subscription" (which he knows they can not help me with), • "You can threaten me all you want, I don't care", • "Oh, and remember that if you go onto pay as you go, there is a 50% chance that I can make you lose your number." 4. I then proceeded to tell him, very calmly, to tell him that he could stop now and that the next words out of his mouth better be in line with what I requested, with which he, after 15 minutes, eventually comp****. I have never before had such ********** and vile customer "SUPPORT" and "CARE" from Vodacom. I have been a loyal customer for nearly 14 years, yet the moment I request something that does not make them a ton of money, they treat me like they are doing me a favour, and like I am inferior and that I somehow do not have the ability to possess the knowledge of which services I may need or want. I will NOT be spoken to like this, and if I do not receive written feedback from a senior member of the VODACOM support staff, I will take my cell phone number, device and money somewhere else.

I WISH I COULD GIVE YOU A ZERO!
