Arrogance of Corporate South Aftrica.

My wife has a contract with Vodacom with several lines, she has had this contract for more that 10 years and it has never been suspended for non payment.I am a Medical Doctor working in a Public Hospital in Johannesburg. We have an arrangement in which I use one of the lines for my main phone. This arrangement has been in existence for more than 10 yrs and she added this line in her contract specifically for this purpose. We have had no problems over the years as the Vodacom Account was paid timeously every month by debit order. Unfortunately,on the 1 st of December 2021: I received many complaints from colleagues at work and patients, to the fact that I was not reachable by mobile phone.I subsequently discovered that my number ***)which I had been using for more than 10 years had been locked. My wife, under whom the number/contract is registered contacted the Vodacom Call Centre for several days in order to ascertain why the number had been locked(other numbers/ lines on the same contract were never interrupted).Promises were made by the call centre agents that the matter would be resolved but the line has remain locked for the past 7 days.Efforts to elicit a response as to why the line has been locked have gone unanswered. There was no warning from the Service provider prior to the line being locked and as stated ,no reason has been proffered as to why it was locked. It was an arbitrary act eminating from somewhere in Vodacom’s Corporate Offices. The arrogance of it all is breathtaking.A long-standing client has their line arbitrarily locked with without warning and no explanation.Efforts to resolve the situation have been in vain since the call centre agents also have no clue as to why the line was locked.Mind you, this is a contract line; this means there’s a signed agreement between the client and service provider. In this case the service provider had arbitrarily and unilaterally suspended a service without bothering to inform the client. We well know that due to the high crime rate( *****):almost all the web based transactions require authentication which is in the form of an OTP sent to your mobile number.Aside from the fact that the disabling of my phone line has impacted on my performance of my duties.I have been unable to access my internet banking, log into some of my e-mail accounts,be contactable by access control and a whole host of other situations which require verification/authentication by OTA. This has been a real eye opener and wake up call as to the callousness of some companies on Corporate South Africa as to how they take their clients for granted and evidently, treat them with contempt. We have tried for 7 days to resolve this matter with Vodacom and empty promises were made and the line remains locked with no explanation offered, all at the whim of the service provider.

Regards

Reviewer Update
Unfortunately my pain and distress is ongoing.Vodacom contacted me on the day I sent my review (3 days ago)and the disconnected/suspended line was restored without a satisfactory explanation as why it was disconnected/suspended.
Early this morning I tried to make an Emergency phone call, only to find that the line was suspended/disconned again. This is the THIRD time that the line has been arbitrarily disconnected/disconnected since 1st December in each instance with no warning.I am a Medical Practitioner working in the Public Health Sector and need to be contactable 24/7.This kind of conduct is ********* and has the potential for very profound and unfortunate consequences.
currently have no line at this number***) and it appears that it was disconnected last night.
