Apple and Vodacom in it for the money and not client service

I understand that all businesses have their Terms and Conditions, but really some of them are just rediculous and makes no sense. My iPhone X has been giving me issues for the longest time, the speaker and the microphone just did not work. Also, the stupid product has a glass back which was cracked next to the camera. So I take my phone 'within' the warrentee period to have the speaker and mic repaired, only to be told by Vodacom Repairs centre after a whole week of being with them, that the phone is no longer under warrentee because of the crack and I now need to pay R11000 for them to give me a refurbished phone as Apple does not repair the handsets. Could you not have told me that before you booked the phone in? You knew it was cracked when I handed it in! Seriously, what is the difference between replacing my speaker and Mic to giving me a refurbished phone? The crack on the back has absolutely nothing to do the speaker and mic not working? Just by the way, I had the same issues with the same phone in 2018! You want to charge clients an arm and a leg for your products and then refuse to repair the rubish you produce! I'm so fed up with Apple and Vodacom!
