Appauling service from Vodacom
I am bitterly disappointed in the service received from the Vodacom fibre department. I logged a call with Vodacom on 8 Nov 2019 (SR***) for no connectivity which remained open until the 14th Nov 2019 when I got notification that the call was closed but I still had no connectivity on my side. When I contacted the call centre to find out why the call was closed I was told that the technicians were able to log into my router remotely. I informed the contact centre that no one confirmed with me that I had connectivity at all so a new call was logged on the 15th Nov (SR***). Since then Vumatel technicians have been on site (16th Nov) to repair the lines that were incorrect spliced. I then restarted the router but still no connectivity. I contacted the call centre again to inform them of this and the same basic troubleshooting commenced (provided the MAC address, checking that cables are plugged in correctly, restarting both devices, etc.). I had also notified them that I had a secondary Wi-Fi router that is the same make and model as the one I currently have, provided the call centre with the same information to add it to the call log history but was told that the problem is not with the device so it won’t help. I contacted the call centre again on 17th Nov for feedback again and one of the call centre operatives established a TechSee connection to confirm whether the cables are plugged in correctly and saw for himself that what the problem was. I had also replaced the network cable between the fibre device and the router but not even this has helped. I was then told that technicians would be sent out to my premises the following day. Today (18th Nov) I contacted the call centre again since I have had no feedback from Vodacom at all by 12pm. To date, I have lost roughly two weeks’ worth of productivity and have used up all the data on my cell-phone trying to get some work done. The best that has been offered to me in the form of compensation is a credit on my account, but this still doesn’t even come close to everything else I have lost in the meantime. I am disappointed in Vodacom because I left a service provider who gave me good service on ADSL technologies, rejected Vox as a fibre service provider for much the same reason to now sit with nothing but regret for the sheer inconvenience I have had to deal with since I became a Vodacom fibre customer.
