APPALLING SERVICE BY VODACOM
I have been receiving absolutely poor service from Vodacom.
My contract ran out in October 2020 and on the 14th of November I called to cancel my contract.
On the 14th of November 2020, I called and I spoke to two people, Mr Nagiah and Mr Pillay.
I requested cancellation and the agent advised that he sent through the request and that all is sorted. The agent, however, was more interested in shoving new deals down my throat.
I, however, continued to be debited!
On the 2nd of January 2021, I called again and I spoke to a Ms Sibisi. She advised me that the agent I spoke to in November made an error but that she will sort it for me. She advised that she put through a request. It was confirmed by the Ms Sibisi that the agent back in November "forgot" to push forth with my request.
Today I receive an sms stating that my account is in arrears.
This is appalling because I have been trying to cancel since November.
Cancelling should not be an issue and if such contracts are being forced upon us, people should be made aware that it is virtually impossible to cancel.
ALL I WANTED WAS MY CANCELLATION but instead i continue to get debited.
But for the negligence of the agent in November, I would not have incurred debt as my account would’ve been cancelled.
I have always respected and trusted Vodacom but this is a real eye opener. How can it be impossible to cancel? Why am I still being billed?
I am certain that public awareness needs to be created.
I refuse to accept liability for any bill since November as I duly put forth a request for cancellation and accordingly did my part.
The onus thereafter shifted to Vodacom to ensure that my request was dealt with.
I will not tolerate being held liable for negligence on the part of Vodacom agents.
I have spent so much of airtime trying to have this resolved.
I highly recommend that customers steer clear of Vodacom as the agent advised that this error is quite common and laughed it off.
