Appalling service after being **** to

I am utterly disgusted and appalled at the level of service I am receiving from Vodacom.

I received a call from Vodacom in June regarding my data contract ( ********** 430) were I was paying R110 for 2 gigs a month.
The person I spoke to (I was told by one of the consultants his name is Mchunu S or F) that they can now offer me the same contract for the half the price which will be R55.

I told the consultant that I was actually looking at cancelling the contract and taking over my husband’s contract were he is paying R100 for 5 gigs a month with Cell C. I told him, let me think about it and he needs to call me back.

When he called me back the last time, he told me that he spoke to his team leader and they can now give me 5 gigs for R100 a month. I even double checked with him if there were any catches and he said no. He also confirmed this would continue month on month as well.

So, I received my 5 gigs of data at the beginning of July and when I got debited on the 22nd I noticed a higher amount of R199 went off for the data contract.

I called to query this, I was told that the discount was only R52 and after vat is added the bill amount is correct at R199. I did not accept this explanation as this was not what I was advised. If anything I was misled and given incorrect information. Why would I have opted to pay more when I initially wanted to cancel my existing contract.

I was told to contact the upgrades department and request to speak to the team leader or manager. I called, I requested to speak to the team leader and I was placed on hold for 20 minutes with no one coming back to me to tell me what is happening. I had to eventually disconnect the call as it is ridiculous to be placed on hold for so long. I get an sms from Vodacom to state if my query was not resolved, to respond No and someone will call me back. I rep**** No and after a few minutes I receive a call from Vodacom. I am holding my phone in my hand and the call disconnects after 2 rings??? What is up with that and then I will get told they tried calling but I did not answer.

I want this matter resolved. I want the calls retrieved for when I spoke to this Mchunu consultant as what he told me on the call and what had actually transpired is 2 different things.

Vodacom needs to be held accountable for this. I work for a financial institution and I am fully aware of the course of action that needs to be taken.

So I get an email from Vodacom on Tuesday after my Hello Peter post requesting for further information which I did respond to. I sent a follow up email yesterday requesting for feedback and uptill now, no response. It's shocking how you treat your customers really?

Good day

Thank you for the response.

However please advise if firstly the call was retrieved and what the consultant had advised me?

Secondly if you are reversing the contract, am I going to get refunded as I was misled from the onset believing I was going to be paying R100 for the 5gigs and I was debited R199 instead?

Thirdly, with the contract reversal going back to 2 gigs will it be at the lower amount of R55 of which the consultant initially offered on the promotion.

Please note that i have sent my complaint to the customer care email address noted below and I have had no response from them even though my email was read by them so I still want a proper follow up by you.

The way the below email was worded is as though your'l cannot give me what I want when in fact that is what was offered.

I require urgent feedback on the above points as I am still not satisfied with the outcome as I cannot see Vodacom accepting they were in the wrong or that the consultant was wrong.

My next step will be the ombudsman if no resolution is received.

Regards
Natasha
