Having started encountering problems with my Nokia Lumia 520 (bought on prepaid on 27/09/2013), I initially took the phone to Vodacom's Repair Centre at Vincent in East London. I explained exactly what the problem was (not charging, malfunction lock button and constantly running charge indicator though charger is not connected). The button was fixed, charging problem temporarily and not the other. The phone went dead again. I took it back, which later died again. The third time I was advised they needed to do a software upgrade, to which I consented. I then got an an sms quoting me an amount of R250. I then called to give them a go-ahead, however, a gentleman by the name of Imraan told me I needed to pay first the amount before any job done, which I advised him I couldn't as I was away. He then assured me it would be done and I would pay later. Days went by and received no sms. I called and only to be told no work was done as I had to pay first. I then rushed there, which I was later attended to by a very rude Imraan (identified to be a manager) and arrogantly asked if I wanted the job done or not! They rejected my warranty claiming a physical defect on the charging port.
