To whom it may concern

I've been a Vodacom customer for the past 10 years, and thus I recently singed a contract on the 16th of June for a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. I was told at the time at Vodacom in Centurion, Pretoria, that I'd be getting R200 and 200mb data monthly. I subsequently had this phone for 6 weeks, after which randomly on one morning it started to flash weird colours on the screen. This was noted to be worse when the display was off, and it wouldn't switch on at all. This was weird, as the phone didn't even sustain any damage whatsoever. Nonetheless, a day later I then went back to the store in Centurion and was told to run between the Vodacom stores, as phones weren't fixed at the store at which contracts were taken out. I was also told that it would be faster if I took my phone to Midrand at the Mall of Africa as it would take a " few weeks" to get it fixed at the store. I then stated that it was impossible for me to do so as I work at hospital during the day and just coming to Centurion was far enough.

I then went to the Vodacom 4U store, where a kind gentleman, Mr Dean, had finally helped me after about hour or so of running between stores. He stated that my phone would be needed to be given in and a technician would then assess it. A few days later, I was then told that the phone was being attended to and that the LCD on the screen needed to be changed. This was purely a hardware problem, and they were waiting for parts.

On the 12th of August I was told that my phone was finally ready for collection. On enquiry, it was stated the LCD was changed and that the problem was resolved. I then fetched the phone on the 13th of August and I was assured the phone was tested and was fine. Later that evening, whilst using the camera, I noticed the front facing camera was malfunctioning. On careful inspection, it seems that a piece of plastic was still attached to the camera causing it to malfunction.

Thus, on the 14th of August, I then once again went back to the Vodacom store in Centurion, and was told subsequently that my phone needed to be handed in AGAIN for repairs. I then demanded to speak to the manager, Mr Joosub, who as I was told, isn't there on Sundays. I then called him on the 15th of August and I then addressed my concerns, he assured me that the phone would be fixed in 2-5 days.

At this moment in time, i've yet to even receive any feedback from him or the store. I'm utterly dismayed and annoyed at the poor and appalling service by Vodacom, especially from the Centurion branch. Paying for a such an expensive phone, I'd at least expect some decent service. Being a working woman, it's extremely difficult to keep running up and down for a problem that should have been fixed the first time. I do understand that with any device, problems do arise. However, as noted, this was purely a hardware problem with the phone and no tampering with the phone was noted. So, basically the LCD screen is replaced, now once again they'll need to open the phone and fix the camera. Thus, what evidence is there to say that I won't have another problem after this?

I'm deeply upset and currently this has dire effects on my work environment at hospital as I am using my old phone which doesn't work properly, and this was the prime reason why I got a new phone in the first place. Thus, sadly I'm considering cancelling this contract if no solution is made.

Your response would be much appreciated.

Kind regards
