Appalling Service

I lost my Simcard 3 months ago. I called Vodacom a week later after realizing that I lost it only to be told that my cellphone number is no longer with Vodacom as off the 19th of February. I questioned how did this happen because I have never subscribed or authorized that my number be under RMSC(not sure of spelling). I didn’t get answers till today. Due to lockdown and having a newborn baby I haven’t been able to go out. But went to the allerged store (Edgar’s) that I have clothing account with which was the reason my number was taken over by them (Vodacom agent explained this to me). My plea is simple and straight forward; I want my *** number back and with Vodacom. Because your company has broken the law on POPI Act and Customer Act! My life has stopped because this is the only primary number I have had for more than 10years. My name is Siphosethu Ndlebe and you can contact me on this number ***. Email: ***

Good day, I been contacted by Lindiwe Nxumalo from Blue Label Connect. She called me on Friday to acknowledge my concern/complaint with Edcon and advised that she would call on Monday once cancellation is done. Once again, this morning she called me back to advise that cancellation is done from their side. And I should now be able to do a SIM swap with Vodacom.
Can your company now assist me with restoring my cellphone number with my balances and performing the sim swap at “no cost”. I can visit my nearest Vodacom branch (Blue Route Mall)! Let me know when I can go!

Sent your team on Twitter the above response and I have not heard a clear response. All they have said is that I must take my ID and proof of residence to my nearest Vodacom shop to do the SIM swap. I once again asked them who will be liable for the fees/payment and their response "The store would advise further". I am clear on my feedback of how your company needs to take responsibility for their carelessness and inconvenience. If the above can not be done by your company to sort the mess they have done. I will no longer engage with your company and will take this to the ombudsman.
