Dear Vodacom
With all due respect I am not interested in 10 GB of data as a gesture of goodwill. I am quite frustrated that I have had to continuously pay an excessive amount just for data. I renewed contract 073 *** **1 via the iStore on my Vodacom contract at the end of last year. For a few months, this phone has been consuming data of astronomical amounts. I have visited the iStore in Canal Walk on numerous occasions whom told me there that the phone was ******* and that the iOS software was consuming the data. They have tried fixing it more than once and every time the same problem persisted. In the early hours of the first of July 2018, the phone consumed almost 2 GB within hours. How is this normal if the phone wasn’t even being used at the time! I appreciate you wanting to assist me in managing and tracking usage, however, I have been with you for many many years (about 10 years in fact) and I have 4 contracts with you , and I sincerely do not need someone to educate me on managing data. If you were to look at historic records for this number, it would be evident to you that I know exactly how to manage my usage. When the phone was not ******* the data usage was “being managed”. My frustration is with both Vodacom and the iStore… who do I hold responsible for the thousands (about R4k per month) I have been spending over the last couple of months??? This contract bill has been costing me more than my vehicle. Not once Vodacom, did you bother to enquire as a courtesy why I was consuming so much data. I renewed the contract with the iStore but I remained faithful as a valid customer you to Vodacom. My thousands might be a drop in the ocean to you, but believe me to the middle class working person, it is quite a lot. I have wifi at home and this phone is utilised 70% of the time at home from my wifi. You have the audacity to call me and offer me a new contract for one of my numbers after me complaining and you knowing how frustrated I am. I requested that an investigation is done over the last couple of months. All that you can say is “there were no errors in the billing volume” Your attachment was in no way helpful to me, for starters, it is barely legible. All that you say is HTTP consumed the most data, which is what exactly!!! Could it be the software??? And if so who is responsible for ******* Apple software? I am at my wits end with you, I feel to cancel all contracts with you, even having to pay a penalty just to get rid of these contracts. I am appalled and disgusted in the amazing customer service I have been provided with!!! So with all due respect if you want, withdraw your 10 GBs of data, it’s a little too late at this stage. You sincerely know just how to take care of old faithful customers.
