Appalled and Disappointed!!!

In April 2016 a device that I had purchased on contract from Vodacom Musgrave Centre malfunctioned and I sent it to the Repair Centre in Umhlanga Gateway. Almost 7 weeks later, I received a sms to come and collect my device and when I got there there was a new device (white in colour while the one I sent for repairs was a lovely grey and black). I protested as I have never liked white and I was told that that was the only one available as they couldn't repair my phone and thus swopped it out. I was given a number to contact as I was unhappy about all of this. I contacted the number and I spoke to lady who told me that there wasn't any stock of any black or grey ones and she suggested that I keep the white one and call back in a few weeks time to check if stock has arrived. I did not have the time to follow up on this as I travel a lot. Now that white phone which I have only had for just over 3 months has died on me this Sunday and I sent it to the Vodacom Repair Centre in Umhlanga. I explained the full story there and asked that they find me a phone similar to my original phone and one that works! I called today to find out why it was taking so long and the response I got from Malcolm was that they were waiting for me to accept a quote of almost R300.00 so that they could go ahead and fix my phone as it had no warranty. Now I was very shocked when I heard this - a phone swopped 3 months ago - no longer under warranty and I still have a year left of the contract and already the phone is out of warranty. To top it all off, it's not even the phone I purchased nor is it similar. I asked to speak to the manager and he was not available, I left my number so he could call me and explain to me and he never did. If this is how Vodacom conducts its business then I find this quite appalling and disappointing at the same time!
