ANOTHER Vodacom mess
It is hard to imagine an organization that is more shambolic, idiotic, misinformed, disinterested, uncaring and thieving than Vodacom. One would think that with the number of customers they have it would not be necessary for them to rob people the way they do but it seems that they are unable to function in any other way. I cancelled 2 contracts 2 years ago because of abject Vodacom uselessness and now I’ve been handed over to their attorneys for collection of more than R11000. This is because they continued to charge me the contract amounts for both contracts after advising them of my intention to terminate, obtaining the necessary early exit invoices from them and paying them in full. The fact that I took my mobile numbers with me to my new service provider did not stop them at all. They merely allocated 2 different numbers to me and charged those. This seems immoral and ******* as I was never advised, I have never used those numbers and I’ve certainly never had contracts with those numbers. In the past 2 years I have tried countless times to sort the matter out with them, I have spent hours ****erally) at my expense ‘on hold’, I have spoken to dozens of people, I have been summarily cut off at their will, I have been ‘put through’ to extensions which turned into dead ends and indiscriminately messed about but have got no further than an endless string of ‘consultants’ and ‘supervisors’ all of whom are only able to speak from a script and still, cannot agree on a course of action. It is impossible to speak with a manager. They are protected like G-ds and are ALWAYS too busy, too precious, too senior or otherwise engaged to tend to a customer. The lawyers, who are actually an in-house department, are no better. I was told (via SMS) that I was being handed over to a ‘Mr Smith’ but when I called to try to get some sanity into this issue —- SURPRISE!!!!! —- I was unable to reach him and was again fobbed off to a ‘consultant’ who doesn’t care, speaks from a script and anyway doesn’t have the authority to fix the issue. I just don’t understand. Hello Peter, Twitter, YouTube, FaceBook and even Vodacom’s own website are full of complaints from disgruntled customers who will never sign up with them again and yet they continue to ***** and cheat indiscriminately. Are the staff not embarrassed? Is Vodacom not tired of being forced to repeatedly apologise? They seem to operate on the premise that there’s a new sucker to catch every day. In closing, I warn everybody out there not to enter into any agreement with this company and I will make it my life’s mission to convince everybody I meet to change their contract to a more competent and honest provider.
