Another Horrible Vodacom Experience - Still not resolved!

On March 17 I went to Vodacom4U Waterstone Village to sign-up for a new Flexi 150 phone contract which included a refurbished iPhone 5. I inquired as to the possibility of keeping my existing pay as you go number and was told it was possible. After several days of trying to register/activate the new contract was told that I was not able to use my current Pay as You Go number, because of something to do with being on a “new system”, but have to take a new number. I want to simply use the contract with my old number but the sales person said we would have to pay a cancellation fee. We have made multiple calls and spent A LOT of time on hold and talking to the Customer (Don’t)Care centre being told the store has to resolve it and the store saying the “head office” has to resolve it! We are paying for phone contract on a number that we don't use! Can a competent person please resolve this issue!!!
