An authorized SIM swap and money withdrawn from bank account
I bank with TymeBank. on the 20th October 2025, a total of R8000 was withdrawn from my account. The bank said it was due to a SIM swap, and they cannot refund me. Thus, Vodacom is responsible as the service provider where the SIM swap was done. I contacted Vodacom, and they confirmed that the SIM swap was done in-store. But Vodacom is not willing to compensate me as they say an SMS was sent to my Phone, which is not true. So this is between Vodacom and TymeBank

11 Dec 2025, 09:24I got a call form Vodacom. They are not prepared to assist. They protect their employee who did the SIM swap. They cant answer simple questions like, which store or province was the SIM swap done. Whose ID was used to do the SIM swap.
