Ambush marketing tactics by Vodacom

I was phoned by a Vodacom sales consultant on the 20th of April 2017 to promote a data package where you receive a LTE router and 5GB data for R 199.00 per month on a 24 month contract. I acepted the promotion and placed the order, however when I followed up on the progress of the order on the 8th of May 2017 I was told that the order was never processed so I had to place it again online.

I placed the order again online on the 8th of May 2017 and this time I recieved confirmation via sms and e-mail that my order has been approved and I'll receive delivery via RAM couriers soon. When I followed up again on the 10th of May I was told that my order was cancelled by the system due to a pricing issue so I had to apply online again. By this time I was very annoyed as I've been through this process twice already and I wasn't even informed that my order was cancelled, if I didn't follow up I would have probably never known.

When I went online to place the order again I found that the price had gone op to R 259.00 per month, which I feel is unacceptable as I have written confirmation of my order being accepted and approved for R 199.00 per month. This price was also confirmed to me via the telesales consultant. It seems like the R 199.00 promotion has ended and I'm now being forced to pay the higher price. I feel that this is very unprofessional and ********* as I have written proof of my order and contract being approved at R 199.00 p/month. I have my own business and let me tell you that my customers would not accept being treated like this, I would be forced to supply them at the agreed price, especially if they have it in writing.

I feel that I've been ambushed by Vodacom as their telemarketers sold a product to me, which now costs more that the original advertised price. I'm sorry, but I won't accept this as I would like the original deal that was offered to me as a longstanding and loyal Vodacom Customer.

Yours sincerely,

A conerned Vodacom Customer.
