Am losing jobs opportunities because of Vodacom
Am writing this message as a very angry and frustrated customer.
I had a contract with Vodacom which I paid in full and closed in March 2021. However Vodacom decided to list me on Transunion and Experian, the credit bureaus in July 2021 after I had paid my account in full, they didn't even make me aware of this until a recruiter picked it up this week.
Debt Collectors sent by Vodacom started calling me in August 2021 about an outstanding amount which I knew nothing about as to my knowledge the account was settled and closed in March 2021, yet before they started calling me about this they had already listed me on the credit bureau. After an investigation was conducted by Vodacom they realized that indeed I had settled the account and it was closed. I received a letter from Vodacom on the 23rd of March 2022 acknowledging that my account was settled and closed. At the bottom of the letter in stated I quote ''Based on the above, we have instructed all credit bureaus to ensure that the payment profile is updated as paid and closed. Please be advised that this request can take up to 7 working days to be updated on their systems.'' However none of this was done by Vodacom.
I have lost job opportunities as there were other recruiters who were recruiting me for other positions however after they requested for the MIE form they never came back to me and I didn't know why. However now it is apparent that it was because of my credit checks that didn't pass . I have been unemployed for 3 years and with this economy things are really tough, so am very frustrated that am not getting a job because of this wrongly listing on the credit bureau.
I have tried to engage with Vodacom through emails and calls as am currently losing on this job opportunity that am currently being interviewed for. However the managers wont speak to me and they don't even reply to my emails.
I need my ITC to be fixed immediately as I cannot continue to lose out on job opportunities because of an error that was done by Vodacom. I feel that my rights were violated and Vodacom is continuing to be arrogant about this by not engaging with me. They are not even apologetic about their error and yet am suffering.
What should I do?
