Almost a week and still no line activation

Dear Vodacom, I used to be your customer....

On Friday last week I collected my new device and paid the R63 sim swap fee and agreed with Mpho that we would do the activation this week. I my account was debited R461 on Monday for connection fees and on Tuesday we started the activation process. Today is Friday and still no active line. The store is unable to give me any information or updates other than to say they have escalated it. A call to the Solutions team yesterday resulted in me being told that they have not received the activation request. I went back to the store this morning and they said I was given incorrect information, they could show me the emails but they are not allowed to because it is their internal processes. As a long standing Vodacom customer, more than 15 years, I have never experienced such shocking customer service. I phoned the store at 11h40 to follow up. Martha said she would phone them and get back to me. Almost an hour later and still no reply.

#unhappycustomer #shockingcustomerservice

Sadly nobody from Vodacom has contacted me yet, neither from the Hellopeter nor the Facebook channels. I tried to phone the store again today, Martha assured me she would keep me posted through the day. I have yet to hear from her. I tried to call her again just after 15h00, she was busy with a customer and would call me back. Even after advising them that I intended to cancel this deal / contract if my line was not activated they still appear to remain reactive and apathetic.

Thank you Vodacom, my contract finally became active yesterday afternoon. However, when I tried to do a sim swap so that I coud use my new device I was avised that they could not do the sim swap as the migration is still showing as open status. It was escalated yesterday afternoon by the call centre agent at customer service and supposedly again this morning by Mpho at Vodacom store at the Nedbank building at 135 Rivonia Road. Still no feedback or sim swap :-( this has truly been the most trying and testing experience with Vodacom I have ever had. I tried calling the customer care and got cut off after 5 minutes. I called back and eventually ended the call after 10 minutes. #donewithVodacom #neveragainVodacom

Thank you Vodacom - fifteen days after taking delivery of my new device the contract was activated and the sim swap completed. I have been offered reasonably compensation for the inconvenience, thank you for that.
