What would you do if your bank asked you to authorize a deduction from your account, you don’t authorize this, but they then allow a company you have never heard from, to empty your account The bank then stops the unauthorized deduction but refuses to reimburse you.

This is what Vodacom has done to me.

An offer was sent to an unattended SMS device that is not used as a cellphone, They certainly did not get any response, their SMS was never even opened. Vodacom’s request to authorize was sent to the same unattended device, and they also did not get confirmation to allow the deduction.

Then Vodacom simply allowed them to clear out my account. Despite my request for a refund , they are now shy to reimburse me, For a loss caused by their negligence.

Best regards,
I did receive an e-mail requesting information that I expect to derive from my September Invoice, next month. In the mean time I have copied and pasted the relevent text messages, including the Vodacom request to confirm.
VASP are a source of immence problems, May I suggest a total block on such services as a default option, If not blocked, Vodacoms request to confirm is good, but an OTP associated with it would improve matters. And if the sender does not respond, please do not assume that the service was requested.
