All paid up but cut off by Vodacom

So on 2 May I paid an account that was in arrears after MBD Inc Attorneys called me to alert that the account (***) has been handed over. I was assured that if I pay R1601.66, all would be settled. Last Friday (8 May 2020) my line has been cut.

It seems like Vodacom closed their helpline during the lockdown. The same with MBD Inc. No phones are answered or emails returned. Nothing. I've tried and tried.

I'm running a small business and face extremely challenging times with this virus. THe last thing I need is for Vodacom to cut me.

For the record. I never had the intention of not paying. My line went into arrears after a debit order did not go off without me picking it up. Never did Vodacom contact me or mailed me to alert me to this. I should have checked, but the worst thing you could say about me is that I was a bit lazy with my admin. Yet, I'm being treated like a ********. Extremely frustrating.

So I've eventually managed to speak to two different people on Vodacom's side (this took a LOT of effort), and they both confirmed that the line and number and contract has been deleted and it is not a payment issue. No explanation, no apology, no fixing up. The line is still dead and in the mean time we are trying to run a small online business with one of the owners without a phone. This is outrageous.
