Agist and chancers

App**** for a contract through Apple IStore for iPhone 15 Pro. I was asked to visit an istore with 3 salary slips. I asked whether, as I am retired, 3 bank statements showing income into my account from various sources would be acceptable. Despite a few emails I have not received a response and my application cancelled. But I received an SMS from Vodacom implying the contract had been opened. When I asked istore to inform them that the application had been rejected due to my retirement status the Vodacom contract must be cancelled and asked why no one had the common courtesy to respond to my question they blamed Vodacom and said Apple istore is simply a 3rd party and the lack of response was Vodaxom’s fault and it was them who opened the contract. When I phoned the number on the SMS to cancel the contract I was kept holding on for 20 minutes. It is absolutely unacceptable for a rejected application to result in the establishment of a contract that I do not want as it will not include the iPhone to suddenly become my problem. Istore have washed their hands of all accountability and blamed Vodacom so it seems Vodacom are the problem here. They CANNOT open a contract when what I was applying for was rejected. I also take offense to the agist attitude - this is not better than ****** or ***ism and is equally offensive.

No one ever contacted me so I app**** directly to Vodacom. ********* with no integriity and a disgraceful Southrican company. They turned down my aplication for a contract which is absolutely fine - I simply wanted a contract as airtime and data are cheaper with a contract. But it’s hardly the end of the world. HOWEVER to provide the reason as my credit rating being too low is a downright lie. My credit rating is 94% or 710 out of a maximum of 750. It’s impossible that my credit rating is the reason for them rejecting my application. The only reason I can think of is my age, 66, is too old for them. So they’re agist and no better that ******s or any other *****ry that exists around the world. I question their values and ethics when they can’t be honest when rejecting an application. I must emphasise that the rejection is not a problem in the slightest it is the reasons they gave to justify their decision that simply cannot be true.
