Agents selling contracts without consent on deceased person's account - *****!!!
Shocking Vodacom - agents basically committing *****! My wife called today trying to find out about the options available since her dad passed away 2 weeks ago and the consultant, without any proof in documentation (only obtaining her dad's personal details from her telephonically), carries on to sell the current contracts at lower prices and thus absolutely abusing the situation. He merely explains the contracts when my wife has to leave the call to attend to our 4 month old baby, asking him if he can please phone later in order to find out what the options are. Within the next hours and without reaching her, numerous sms messages were received confirming changes to contracts being approved. 1) My wife only being the deceased's daughter does not have the authority to change these contracts (it's ***** since she is not the account holder and he is not in possession of any proof of a death certificate) The reason for the call was to obtain options on transferring/cancelling contracts. 2) The agent by the name of 'Daniel' abuses the situation changing the contracts and renewing some of them from today for another two years (probably earns a nice commission from preying on emotional and unstable people recently suffering the loss of a father) 3) Should there be any administration costs for the above or issues in making the appropriate changes through the deceased department and not a very urgent call to explain this, I will be contacting the papers and social media platforms.
This is something to be ashamed off!
