Agent's lack of knowledge

Some of Vodacom's agents don't have proper knowledge about their products.

Recent correspondence between me and Vodacom:

Good evening. Recently one of your agents came to our house in Fichardtpark, Bloemfontein to tell us about the new fibre optic installation. He told us that we can get Fibre Optic Internet with DSTV for only R569 per month. We asked him if this deal includes the premium DSTV package that we had at that time. He assured us that everything is included and that the moment we switch to Fibre Optic, everything will automatically switch over so that we have DSTV as well as Fibre Optic Internet. We thought that we needed to cancel our subscription at Multichoice, because he assured us that both Internet and DSTV will run with Fibre Optic. We cancelled our subscription with Multichoice and now we only have internet, but no DSTV. We are really disappointed with Vodacom for not providing us with proper detail regarding the DSTV subscription and Internet. Should we reactivate our DSTV subscription we will need to pay R569 per month for Fibre plus more than R800 for DSTV premium and we simply cannot afford that. Please make sure that your agents have proper knowledge about your products. Your agent has caused us a lot of inconvenience due to lack of knowledge about the product.

Vodacom's reply:

We are sorry to hear that you are less than satisfied with the service you received and assure you this is not the way we do business. We cannot confirm the communication you received from the agent but we would like to apologize, sincerely for your overall experience.

They don't want to fix the inconvenience their agent has caused us. It is the typical "sorry" reply and you just have to accept that and go on with your life. Pathetic, to say the least.
