Account suspended due to a problem at Vodacom
I have been a Vodacom customer for more than 15 years, with a signed debit order through which payment is made for my contract at the end of eve ry month. In all these years I have never defaulted on a single payment. My last payment should have gone through on 30 April 2015. On 2 May I was informed that my debit order had been returned by my bank as unpaid. I immediately contacted Vodacom who then admitted that the problem was on their side and they then agreed not to suspend my account and to resubmit the debit order on 8 May. Today (15 May 2015) I found that my account had been suspended. I contacted Vodacom who then told me that this had happened because the invoice for April had not been paid. On further enquiry, Winnie (Ref # Winnie 12h38) told me that this was because of a problem on Vodacom's side with the submission of debit orders to credit cards. This is not totally unacceptable but also unprofessional. Could a consultant not have called me before suspending my account. My daughter, who's phone is also on my account, is away from home, also now stranded without a phone because of the incompetency of someone at Vodacom. I am disgusted!
