Account Subscribed

Two weeks ago I made application for a new smartphone and was turned down because of an account outstanding that was prescribed in 2009. I have been sent from accounts to legal with no less than 20 calls with absolutely no solution to this problem. In 2009 I was listed on ITC for a so called old account in my name that dated back to 1999/2000. At the time I queried with Vodacom on what the problem was and it was established that Vodacom accounts department were clearing out their records and there were automatic ITC listings because of that. In 2009 Vodacom agreed that the account was not in force as the account was declared as prescribed because I never received an account or any breakdown to pay, never ever before, and the first I ever heard of the account was 9 years after it was supposed to have been closed in 2000. Subsequently Vodacom issued a letter to ITC and myself confirming that the account was prescribed and nothing is owing from myself to Vodacom. I have spent the last 3 weeks trying to get some sense between Vodacom accounts and legal and I have come to a dead end, none of the staff at Vodacom understand this problem, hence my complaint to get this sorted out ASAP.
