ACCOUNT PAID UP -UPDATING CREDIT PROFILE
I app**** for a mortgage bond last year and was shocked on being informed that my bond was declined because of a default listing on my credit profile by Vodacom which I was unaware of as I had never been contacted by Vodacom or received any correspondence from Vodacom requesting payment or informing my of the default which is ******** and contrary to the National Credit Act & requlations. Subsequent enquiries at local vodacom branch revealed that I was in default for non payment of a contract.I was under the mistaken impression that my contract with Vodacom had ended and that is why Vodacom stopped debiting my account . I immediately paid Vodacom the outstanding amount.
I requested Vodacom to instruct the relevant credit bureaus to remove the default listing and update my credit profile as I had an unblemished credit profile and the listing by vodacom is effecting my credit score and my bond application . I contacted Vodacom customer services and was requested to contact the legal department. I contacted the legal department and was requested to contact the customer service despite my protest . I was “kicked from pillar to post” by Vodacom consultants with no joy. Numerous emails to Vodacom customer services resulted in reference numbers given but no assistance. I have settled Vodacom, they simply need to remove the listing on my credit profile with the credit bureau as it has a bearing on my credit score. Absolutely pathetic service on Vodacom. They are quick to call me on new promotions but pathetic on customer service.
