account not settled

I had two contracts with vodacom, one was a normal cellphone contract and the other, a 3g contract. My finances started getting messed up leaving me to not being able to maintain the payment of the contracts. I missed a few payments and my account was handed over to lawyers. I got retrench ed at work and settled the account with the lawyers, at the time I was dealing with a lady whose name I forgot. This was last year between April and May. A couple of months ago I received a call from vodacom lawyers advising that I should pay my 3g account as it had been handed over, which I didn't understand, as my understanding was that I had settled both the cellphone and 3g account. I called the lawyer guy, this was in February this year and had since told me that he would request statements on this 3g account. To this day I have not received a call from him, only a message saying I must pay my account. My understanding is that even though I had two contracts, they were billed as one from my account and when I settled the account, I was settling both as the lady gave me one amount and if not, then why hand over one contract when both of them were months in arrears! And why call a year later
