Account Handed over for Bill Never received - Customer for 12 Years

Hi Vodacom,

We don't talk much as I am a customer whom for years have paid their account by debit order and pretty much continues his life and work.

I have had a contract with you guys for more than 12 years. In 2016 I converted my personal contract to a Business contract which is paid by my company via debit order.

About 2 weeks ago I get a call out of the blue from a lady (I cannot recall her name); I thought it was a spam call as it referred to a debt to Vodacom since 2016. I reminded her that is was 2018 and queried as to why I was only informed of it then. She asked me for personal details and opted not to divulge it over the phone. She also couldn't give me the amount outstanding. She asked for my mobile number!? I gave her my gmail email address.

She promised to send me a statement but that never arrived.

Today I receive a call from Palesa Oliefant from Hammond Pole Attorneys. Vodacom has evidently decided to hand over the account without making contact with myself. I asked her to mail me the statement whilst on the call so that I can finally see some document. The statement from 2006/11/21 till 2016/12/02 had a balance owing of R540.35. So that is a 10 year contract!! I have renewed and thus on this number alone that is 12 years of continuous service. But they evidently just handed me over for that minor amount. And now clearly I also have to cough up for some legal costs as well.

Vodacom; this is totally unacceptable. Ironically my contract is expiring today and will likely continue with the service but I would like this to be resolved respectfully.

Admittedly someone in your accounts department never followed up or contacted me. And then the easy was taken to simply hand it over.

Please propose a reasonable solution so that I can continued my support and forget about this incident.

Thank you Kindly, Reinhard
