Account Blocked without reason

Shocking Service once again from Vodacom.

I have 6 x contracts with Vodacom and have been a client for over 20 years.

Yesterday I visited a local Vodashop and was assisted with a contract upgrade.

My monthly spend on Vodacom is around R3000 which I understand is not a big amount but I have been a loyal client for a long time.

Today 9 July 2025 I receive an SMS stating that my account is in arrears with R100.82 and if not paid before the 11th I risk the account being barred from further calls.

Shortly thereafter, all my lines are locked and I cannot call out from any of them. This includes my wife and daughters lines and they are both on the road today.

I login to my Vodacom app and although my debit order runs on the 15th monthly I pay the monthly amount and receive a message to confirm payment.

My lines are still locked. I call Vodacom to unblock the account. The lady I speak to Surprise Nethamane refuses to acknowledge that it is a fault on their side despite me confirming more than once the SMS notes the 11th as a Cut-off but she refuses. This is what the system does according to her.

Now, my line will be re-activate in 2 - 5 hours. How is that for service.

Each contract that expires will not be renewed. If anything happens to any of my family and they are unable to contact me in an emergency I will take serious action against Vodacom.

I am waiting for a supervisor to call me but previous experience with Vodacom and escalating matters I am sure I will wait for the second coming.

The only positive in this is that Vodacom no longer has a monopoly on the market. Lots of new upcoming companies that are hungry for business,
