I have NO IDEA why Vodacom make it so awkward to access one's data balance on the 2 Gb/ 24 month package. The agent at local Vodacom dealer tells me that one needs to remove SIM from modem and insert it in cell phone and follow procedure. This is NONSENSE. It is TOTALLY IMPRACTICAL.

An alternative method appears to be logging into Vodacom site and go thru a password protection webpage to do so. How time consuming and awkward in this age of communication systems.

Both Cell-C and MTN have easy menu which automatically give balance of data account. But Vodacom wishes to confuse its customer by using an indirect procedure.

I want to know exactly how many bytes I have left from my monthly 2 Gb allowance and exactly how many bytes I have left from my \night owl' allowance as separate items. Surely all Vodacom's customer want this information???

I have suspicion that this is done to confuse customers and cause data allowance overruns so that the customer unexpectedly incurs higher costs.

Shame on you Vodacom.

"
