Absolutely disgusting service

I went into a Vodacom store, in Jan 2021 to give notice and end contract after the 2 year period. I was told to phone to cancel. I did this from the store in Faramere and received confirmation of cancellation.

Today is the first time I hear anything and it's from my bank. With no prior communication, no contact, no post, no emails, no statements. Nothing. I've received notice through my bank that my Vodacom account is in arrears. They've now taken action against me affecting my credit record. When I queried this they admitted to seeing the cancellation but it was never actioned. Someone from Vodacom was going to phone me back to resolve the matter, but I'm still waiting.

Furious that their administrative mistake might affect my credit record and they are showing no interest in resolving this.

After posting this issue on multiple platforms and having to start 3 conversations with Vodacom Customer service on social media, finally I get a call for Vodacom Hello Peter team member.

I explain the scenario once more, only this time someone actually bothered to log into the account to inform me what it is I owe money for.

I explained that I engaged in a contract for the sole purpose of the special of 2 X iPhone 6s. NOT FOR THS PLAN. I paid my accounts for 26 months consecutively. 24 months of which were part of an agreed contract period. 1 month agreed notice period. Month 26 came as a shock when my account was debited once more, this was NOT agreed to.
So, I picked up the phone to Vodacom and asked why they debited my account, they said they would investigate and get back to me and guess what never heard anything. Eventually, it was headed towards the 27th month of payment and I'd not gotten any feedback. I tried to call again and got stuck in CS queues for hours in totality. I didn't feel that I should have to fight this hard to not have a huge corporate debit money from my account that was not authorized, so I stopped the debit order.

As time went by, heard nothing from Vodacom other than daily adverti*****ts and job notifications. No calls, no statements, no post, no contacting of next of kin, nothing. From 19 April until yesterday, 01 September. That's almost 4.5 months. But strangely enough, I didn't even hear from Vodacom. I actually logged into my online banking only to see a red flag stating that Vodacom has lodged a dispute due to an outstanding account for 3 months.

Besides the fact that my credit rating is above average, I bought a home at the age of 24 and still own it, have vehicle and insurance and other types of accounts. I am also a business owner and would never risk my

It's now been 24 hrs since I had the call with Vodacom admitting that they were at fault and failed to cancel 50% of a contract.

They've not provided me with any reference number, email or any written communication stating that they will fix this.

I've wasted a total of 4hrs on airtime this week phoning up and down trying to resolve.

Even with admission of fault on their side, they fail to provide any written communication.

And in the interim, my name is red flagged.

How many people are you doing this to???

Day 5 of fighting this. Nothing has been confirmed in writing or actioned, not even a confirmation email. I've checked my status again, still red flagged. What exactly do I need to do to get someone at Vodacom to resolve this. @Vodacom, do I need to take this to the ombudsman at the credit bureau???
