ABSOLUTELY ANGRY VERY VERY ANGRY
Hi Angelic, I trust you are well and safe. Kindly see below message sent to hello peter regarding the service received at your store. I would like this matter to be attended to urgently. I would also appreciate it if I can be contacted on *** to discuss this. I am so ANGRY SO MAD. I purchased a tablet from Vodacom Mall at Reds on 13 January 2021. I was made to sign the agreement which of course when you take a phone/tablet on contract you will have to sign an agreement. The lady that was assisting me was Millicent. She seemed not to understand how to handle applications on the system. She kept on asking assistance from one of her colleagues. The colleague would come assist her and she will tell her that she is not allowed to assist her. The lady would assist Millicent and leave immediately and she didn't want to be seen assisting her after a few minutes. Millicent will again call for assistance asking what must she do next. After the application was completed Millicent mentioned to me that I will have to pay R106 for a sim card which I then paid the required amount at the shop. To my surprise on 15th January 2021 I woke up with a bank notification that there was a declined transaction from Vodacom since there was insufficient funds. This was really a big surprise since Millicent never explained the money to be debited. Just to add I have been a customer for Vodacom for the past 2 years on a contract and have never missed any debit order for Vodacom or any of my accounts. This is going to affect my credit profile if I was told I was surely going to make sure that there are funds in my bank account. I called Vodacom Mall at Reds on 15 January 2021 in the afternoon around 17:35 to dispute the transaction. I spoke to Millicent to explain that she never mentioned anything regarding the debit. She then said she did explain to me (mind you a person that was asking her colleague for an assistant) when I app**** for the contract. She then said I should hold on and asked someone in the shop on how to handle this matter. She came back and said but you signed an agreement so we cannot help you. I don't dispute signing an agreement but that agreement was surely supposed to be summarized to me at the end to be also informed that in 24 or 48 hours my bank account will be debited. I then asked to speak to the store Manager. Millicent gave the phone to Alex Mahoro. I explained to Alex my story and what Alex said to me after a long angry story said he takes Millicent words that she informed me of the debit order. I kept on explaining to him that this pro rata debit was never explained. In fact it was the first time on the call I heard of the pro-rata. Just to add again, that when Millicent asked me to hold on the phone she asked someone at the shop as she did not know how much or why I was debited. I overheard the lady at the back asking her what did I purchase and for how much. The lady then said the money debited is a pro-rata and something else I think for R98. Again, if she mentioned to me the pro-rata why would she ask a colleague at the shop for the money debited. I then asked Alex since I could tell he is not helping me to speak to someone higher than him. Alex said that person is not in but will be in tomorrow, 16 January 2021. I asked the name and position of the person. He then mentioned to me that the person is Angelic Terblanche and she is the Manager of the store. I then asked but why did you and Millicent lie to me that you were the Manager of the store. Alex then said he is actually an assistant to Ms Terblanche. I further asked why I was given an expression that he is the store manager he then rep**** by saying he is the acting manager since Ms Terblanche is not in. I asked what made him to then just decide on a decision that Millicent did tell me about the debit. He kept on saying I have signed the agreement. I asked Alex for the recording of my call so that it can be shared with Ms Terblanche. He said their calls are not recorded. This is so disappointing as I would have loved his Manager to hear how he handled the situation because all he was saying was that I signed an agreement. Does it mean that all customers that walk in the store they sign agreements that are not explained to them and the moment they query something then they will be told they can't be assisted since they have signed an agreement. An agreement should be summarised to the customer. Unfortunately, at the end of signing the agreement the only clause I was told was for me to only pay for the sim card.
I would like VODACOM to please handle this as I was never informed of the debit and this is going to affect my profile. As I mentioned I have never NEVER missed any payments on any of my accounts why if I was told would I not make sure there is money in my account?
The 2 employees didn't want to hear my story as they kept on saying I have signed an agreement and I am sure by all that agreement was supposed to be summarized to me so I know what I am signing.
I need this matter to be sorted as soon as possible as it's going to affect my credit profile. I am planning to make a big purchase in the next coming 2 months and this MUST be sorted. Why would I mess my credit profile just for money that is less than R200 knowing very well that I am about to purchase something big. If the debit order was mentioned to me surely i was going to make sure there is money in that bank account.
The employees **** making me think the other one is the store manager.
