Absolute pathetic service from Vodacom
My husband was recently contacted by a client service member from Vodacom to assist him with upgrading his existing contracts. The consultant went through each upgrade and confirmed in the end that the total monthly subscription will be R2 800 for everything. My husband confirmed several times what the total amount will be. He then proceeded to accept all the upgrades and the hardware was couriered to us. Big was our surprise when we received the first bill after the upgrades which now totaled R7 000. He immediately contacted Vodacom to enquire about this as this was not what he had agreed to. They then informed him that the consultant made a mistake and the monthly amount will be R7 000 going forward. This is not what we can afford. My husband contacted Vodacom again and they said we can return everything and go through the upgrade process again. They will refund us the amount for the hardware. This morning I phoned in to request them to confirm in writing what credit we will receive once the items has been returned upon which I was told that if we had used the items there will be no refund. I then requested them to send me documentation entailing what is covered on each contract and I was told there is nothing in writing as the voicelog serves as a contract. This is contrary to what they just told us regarding the verbal contract my husband entered into where the total subscription would be R2 800 per month. We are very unhappy with this situation as we are not being treated fairly. We need to send everything back and pay for it. They are not even willing to negotiate a scenario where we are also benefitted. The only one being favoured in this situation is Vodacom and the have no regard for us as clients at all. I do hope some one will react to this review as I think this is very bad service from them. They are also not able to supply us with a copy of the telephone conversation which is why the POPIA act was implemented. We were told that we could get a copy of the telephone concersation at our local Vodacom store but when my husband got there they were unable to suppy it to him. This is blatant disregard for the rights of the client.
