Absolute joke, definitely time to leave

I would like to congratulate Vodacom. With the incompetence I have been shown this past week, the arrogance of your retention team leaders and the blatant condescension shown by your call center staff, I, a Vodacom client of almost 10 years, will be moving to ANY other service provider as quickly as possible.

Where to begin…..

1. I advise in the beginning of April to cancel my second line on which my tablet was active as the contract was over. Its apparently on your system but was never actioned.

2. I called in last month to complain that under the same number I was being charged for Data services which are not for my contract as I have never even run out of data (2GB can go far when you have WiFi at home as well), to which the woman who dealt with me stated it was something activated by Vodacom and was an error so I should be paid back. Low and behold not only was I not paid back, but over the past 3 months they have taken R316.08 for these supposed data charges.

3. My phone broke and I would like to pay off whatever is outstanding on my current handset to get a new phone and extend my contract (as my family members have done on both MTN and CellC). I call in to the upgrades department where I am told I can go to any Vodacom and it’s not a problem, only to be told by the staff in the shop that I need to be spending over R1200 a month for an early upgrade which the supervisors in the call center have to give. I DON’T EVEN WANT AN UPGRADE, I WANT THE SAME CONTRACT AND AN EQUIVALENT PHONE WHILE CONTINUING MY CONTRACT.

4. I call in to get approval to get my phone where I am told the same silly story, then told to buy another phone to use until the contract is up, OR to cancel my contract but then it will 90 DAYS UNTIL I CAN GET A NEW CONTRACT!

5. I ask to speak to a manager, and a team leader of retention (I laugh at the thought as I write it) comes on the line clearly not in the mood to work. As she tells me how long I have this contract open and I jokingly say “so you can see how long I’ve been with you guys”, she then rudely says “can I finish what I’m saying!” ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! I have worked in the same line of customer care and you never tell a client to basically shut up because you are speaking. IF I WANT TO RANT FOR 10 MIN BECAUSE OF THE IDIOCRACY AND INCONVENIENCE I HAVE DEALT WITH, THEN YOU LISTEN AND CONTINUE WHAT YOU WERE SAYING AFTER! I PAY YOU, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!

6. R757.61 is debited off my account today. Considering that my contracts should equal R637.50 (that’s what I signed up for). Only to see my contract for the tablet is not cancelled and R131.70 was added for these supposed data charges.

7. I call in to query and quite frankly complain about the additional charges. The first lady dropped my call after 17min20sec (possibly an accident). I then call back, get through to Rosemary in cancellation who tried her best to help but needed to transfer me to someone else (I did not catch his name) and after trying to explain to this guy what happened, he has the arrogance to say the additional charges are a part of my contract. You can imagine my frustration with this guy, when I tell him facts and figures (politely, albeit slightly heatedly, letting him know he is talking *******) he then hung up on me. Please accept that all zero scores are for him and if you staff work off incentive I hope my zeros knocked him by R316.08 so he can be as frustrated as I am.

I am currently in contact with another provider to buy out my contract and I will make it my mission to tell everyone I know about the ‘amazing’ service you should expect from Vodacom.
