A more customer-friendly approach?

I have a data contract with Vodacom, and I am unhappy about the way I feel pressurised to use my data: If I don't use all the data allocated for a calendar month it is carried over to the next month, which is fine with me. However, when the data for the following month is allocated it is used FIRST, and only after that has been exhausted, then the carry-over data is used.

This puts unnecessary pressure on me to use all my data every month, and I have a feeling of resentment that I can't use my old data first, which will give me greater flexibility.

Vodacom must have its reasons for this, but they don't feel customer-friendly to me. How about we work together and have an easier relationship?

Your reply was most prompt, which I appreciated. However, it was unfortunately not very helpful because in essence it simply said that conditions are conditions, and the customer must just accept that. You did, however, suggest that I might buy less data, then I would forfeit less, which is a reasonable suggestion.

However, it is not as simple as that in my case: some months I use up all my data and some months I use very little - it depends on my needs - so this is not practical for me.

So I again appeal to Vodacom to reconsider this policy. I can't fathom the reason for it, and it smacks of greed, but I am willing to persuaded otherwise. If you compare Vodacom's policy with those of the other data providers you will find that they have a Last Buy Last Use policy for even more than two months, so Vodacom compares poorly.

I hope to make other users aware of this so that they might also consider changing to a data provider which is does not have such an unreasonable policy.
