A Letter of Clearance Cannot Undo the Damage
Dear HelloPeter,
Vodacom has now sent me a letter confirming that I owe them nothing. Yet in the same letter they state:
“We are not able to remove any information related to your account from the credit bureaus unless the information is listed in error."
If this had been handled correctly from the beginning, none of this would have been necessary.
This entire experience has been deeply traumatising for me. I have spent lots of my personal time making calls, following up, explaining myself over and over again about my own account. Instead of feeling assisted, I felt worn down and frustrated. The system feels designed to exhaust customers rather than serve them — and that is heartbreaking.
I am still waiting for all my refunds. The financial and emotional stress this has caused cannot simply be undone with a letter.
At this stage, I have completely lost trust. Unless Vodacom takes real responsibility and proves me wrong through meaningful action, I will never do business with them again — and I cannot in good conscience recommend them to anyone.
I will continue to provide updates.
