A communication company with communication issues.

Vodacom seems to be a constant 'communication company with communication issues!'

Never mind the fact that there is a glaring spelling error on their website, making contact is virtually impossible, particularly if you are outside South Africa.

I have an account query and, regardless of which contact selection I make, I get the following message:

> Email us

Dear Valued Customer

Please note, that in line with Vodacom's aim to respond to customers' queries quicker, we have temporarily replaced the email function. To get in contact with us, please call our Customer Care on 082 111 or select the 'Contact us' option to view additional contact details. <

Well, calling 082 111 is not possible (from elsewhere other than in South Africa), and even if you do call this number, you ought to make a pot of coffee, put your feet up and WAIT...

My contract is coming to an end shortly and, as I realise that if you do not physically cancel the contract, you will continue to be charged the contract fee. So, my question is, how does one actually do this?

I look forward to being advised of a pain-free, practical solution that works.

Judith

I AM STILL WAITING! And still I wait for a resolution and the cancellation of the contract! See my correspondence sent on 29 April (personal information / response replaced with ###) in response to an email from Vodacom assuring me that they would assist me with my query. To date I have not had a response, acknowledgement or confirmation that the contract will be cancelled: "Sent: 29 April 2019 11:14 To: ********** Subject: RE: 1)ID number: ### 2)Type of contract package. ### 3)Name of bank and account type. ### 4)Address details. ### however the address you are using, which I have amended at a Vodacom outlet in ###, and via email, and via call to the contact centre, has not been amended and still reflects ### which has not been my postal address for many years. I therefore assume the physical address you have on record would be ###) I am sending you the above information that you have requested and via this correspondence am advising you in writing that I wish to cancel my contract number ### for cell number ### which comes to an end soon – hereby giving you the required month’s notice. I look forward to hearing from you. Judith From: ********** ********** Sent: 29 April 2019 08:33 Subject: RE: Dear Judith, The protection of your account against ***** is critical to us so before we continue, we need to verify that you have permission to request information on this account by asking you a few security questions: 1)ID number. 2)Type of contract package. 3)Name of bank and account type. 4)Address details. Once we receive this, we will be able to assist with your query.
