A 25 year old Vodamail a/c disaster

I have had an email a/c with Vodacom for +- 25 years ********** linked to prepaid no. 076 ********** . Additionally I have cell phone, tablet and data contracts

On 20th Feb’17 - I visited the Chatz Vodacom store to enquire about the possibility of changing the Vodamail prepaid no. to a contract and any effect on my Vodamail. I was assured it was possible and my Vodamail would not be affected at all. On hearing this, I signed a data contract.(ICA ********** )

I since discovered this was untrue, and I had lost all access to my Vodamail. I had been sent from one Vodashop to another and after 3 x stops eventually ended up at Eastgate.

Apparently I had been migrated to a new C3D system, and I had lost all access to my mail, ****il further notice ??). In addition, - this was irreversible!

I was traumatised on hearing this, as I have 25 years of mailing on this address, my business and personal life has been greatly affected.

In panic, I requested that at least could one of the 3 x Greenstone Vodacom shops, set up my gmail a/c on Outlook. Not one store could assist. (I also had to provide my own Wi Fi connection every time)

The lack of empathy as well as technical s****s troubled me most.

I only hope that Vodacom takes cognizance of this disaster. How something like this can happen is quite unbelievable, after being a loyal Vodacomcustomer for so long. I will continue to seek some resolution on this and will also visit the Midrand Branch for further answers.
