8 months not suffiecient to resolve a query

In September 2016, I naively agreed to accepting a new Vodacom device/****le on my existing account via a telephone salesman, who assured me that me contract who stay exactly the same. Accordinging to him, I could get more data at the same price as well as a free ****le. Sounded to good to be true... well it was!

The device was delivered a few days later, which I signed for and never unwrapped. Upon received my next statement, I realised that the ****le was linked to a new line. This was obvioulsy contradictorary to my telephone conversation, and therefore I returned the device, within the required time frame and it was processsed as returned by vodacom.

Due to the fact that the device was returned within the specified timeframe, I was therefore due a credit relating to the "new" line as well as once off fees etc. Unfortunately Vodacom completely messed this procedure up and blocked my account and device as well as sent me numerous letters threatening blacklisting.

All the while I carried on with my obligation on my old/existing line and paid my debit order, never defaulting once. After 5 months of phone calls and being transferred from one department to the other, in desperation I searched the internet for an email address. One will notice that Vodacom does not advertise their customer care email address anywhere, as they do not want written records of their poor customer service.

In March 2017 I was able to find their customer care email address and emailed them to try and get them to pass credit notes. This process started 15 March 2017, took 7 emails and was finalised over a month later, 22 April 2017.

Upon received my April invoice, I noticed that I was charged an unlocking fee! My account was locked due to an error by Vodacom! Why should I pay for this?

Since 22 April, I have sent 5 emails requesting as to how Vodacom is going to reimburse me for the 8 months that my device was blocked and I was unable to use it, but my last 2 emails have not even received a response from Vodacom!

Is it fair that my account was blocked for 8 months, whilst I paid my account every month and I was not able to use my device due to an administrative error by Vodacom? Their action of passing the credit note is admission that they were at fault in the first place.
