My husband passed away leaving me with a cell phone contract with Vodacom both a cell phone and a modem. I already have a phone.
I have been to Vodacom and have spoken to numerous different people, all have a different way of doing things. Since the contract is in my husbands name as well as a company, which has been closed as well, I am *****ed.
I have been told that I can just change the number into a pay as you go, great.
I have been told that I need to pay R 6'000.00 in, this is not great.
What happens to the modem what is the amount for this?
Vodacom should read what MTN or Cell C do for their clients. Just because they are the biggest, does that give them the right to be the worst and most unsympathetic.
Why is it not just the phone that I need to pay? Why do you force a person to keep up a contract even though by your rules they are actually not allowed to have because said person is not working.
Even Ebrahim Mohamed who is the acting national consumer commissioner say that 75% is excessive and is not justified.
