7 days out the box failure warantee a joke

Good evening

when upgrading a cell phone, you sign several times that you understand that you have 7 days out the box failure and that the phone needs to be in a great condition and in original box and and and........ if something go wrong and you need to take it back. So my Iphone 7 I got 2 weeks ago overheated. And I do take it back on the 24th Dec within the 7 day period. I just need to say, i had a iphone the last 6 years, and this phone was over heating. I am not imagining it. Today is the 29th Dec and heard Nothing from Vodocom regarding my phone as according to their regulations it needs to be sent it for a report. I phone the consultant in Cresta to find out what is happening. He could not answer me directly and I told him that I will phone back. Later I called back and was informed that it is still being checked and I will be contacted within an hour for feedback. Well, i am still waiting for that phone call. It is nearly a week later for feedback on a clearly faulty phone and it is NOT normal for a Iphone to over heat. What must one do to get service from Vodacom or is an alternative service an option?
