*******

This has been a ********** experience with me, for me, whereby I feel like taking this to every newspaper house.

I have been **** to since day 1, stepped into Vodacom Canal Walk store. My phone charger battery was not working and because it was under warranty, Vodacom would fix it. Nothing else was wrong with the phone and they told me it to take a few days to fix. It just first had to be assisted with the technician.

Not even 10 minutes had gone by when I wss charged an incorrect quote of R3300 because a technician thought I had a generic screen and there was apparently water damage to the camera. When I explained that I bought the phone straight from Vodacom and they could see I wasn't going to to take their nonsense, they took that charge off. But then, then their physical damage assessment to the phone had changed. First, it was water, then apparently a hair clip to the device and so on. This has taken so long and so many stories had changed with regards to the phone and when it would be ready. There was also a gap between when the technician spoke to someone and when you took over. Please also see the time frame of what happened with this fault.

The device was booked in 14/11/2025 (12:13)

The Device was allocated to an engineer 14/11/2025 (13:12)

The Quote was Generated 14/11/2025

17th Monique called with the Quote - Client requested for the Engineer to call her

18th called – no answer

26th Chantal took the Query over – Parts was ordered and email sent to the client as requested .

28th Parts Received

1st of December another assessment was performed, and the Engineer discovered the mother board needed replacement .

I took off from work yesterday , as I was told by Chantal ( the branch manager) and the technician that the phone would be ready by today. So now I lost money today because of what was told to me and then Chantel told me in her words that the technician would be paying for my day of non income out of out of his pocket. Then the story changed. No one even had the decency to tell me that the phone was not ready yesterday but when I called yesterday the technician at the store told me that it would be ready by 11am tomorrow morning. When Chantal got on the phone after him she told me that the parts were on order and they couldn't let me know when the phone would be ready. What I find fascinating about all of this is, is that the minute I left the store, all of a sudden, they were going to quote me R3300. Because I disputed that, stories changed and I'm still without my phone

The branch manager also told me that I could collect my phone and take it if I'm not happy with the outcome? But I pay monthly for comprehensive vodanom insurance, including a hefty vodacom monthly fee, without default. Why would a branch manager say that to a customer.

Now suddenly I'll get a brand new phone, but must still pay the R337 price as there was apparently problems with it, so the technician had to take it out of warranty, which I don't believe for a second
