5-Month Unresolved Billing Dispute – Vodacom

5-Month Unresolved Billing Dispute – Vodacom

I have an unresolved billing dispute with Vodacom South Africa that has now continued for 5 months. Despite:

Multiple calls to Vodacom call centres

Repeated emails to Customer Care, Executive Office, and Media Relations

Formal escalations and promises of feedback

…the issue remains unresolved.

Vodacom continues unauthorised debit deductions from my account, despite my written objections. I have formally lodged complaints with:

ICASA (communications regulator)

National Consumer Commission (NCC)

…citing breaches of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

I urgently request Vodacom to:

Immediately stop all unauthorised debit deductions

Refund all amounts incorrectly debited

Provide written confirmation of corrective action

This matter has caused significant financial inconvenience, and I hope Vodacom takes immediate action to resolve it.

Dear sir,

Thank you for your valued feedback.
Regarding your comment that you “tried to reach me again,” I am unclear on what this refers to. The last time I spoke with anyone from your department was on 6 October 2025. I did notice a missed call marked as potential spam at 12:01, but no voicemail message was left, so I could not verify the caller’s identity. You are most welcome to contact me via email, as this has proven to be the most reliable method of communication thus far.

With reference to your statement: “Contract has been cancelled and converted to Red Flexi 0, effective 31 October 2025.” Please provide a written confirmation detailing the corrective actions taken, so I can fully understand the resolution and implications of this change.

Additionally, I request: 1. A clear indication of when the refund for all unauthorised or incorrect debit deductions will be processed. 2. A copy of the voice recording(s) of my conversation(s) with your consultant relating to this matter.

I appreciate your attention and look forward to receiving the above information in writing.

Kind regards,
André

Unresolved 6-Month Billing Dispute: Unauthorized Deductions and Complete Failure to Provide Documentation/Refund
This review documents Vodacom’s continued failure to resolve an ongoing billing dispute and continuous unauthorized debit deductions spanning six months (April – October 2025).
Vodacom’s Unhelpful Response (14 October 2025)
Vodacom rep**** to my prior complaint on 14 October 2025, confirming only a contract conversion to 'Red Flexi Zero' effective 31 October 2025. This response was inadequate, unhelpful, and failed to address the core financial demands.
Failure to Act Following Customer Reply
I responded to Vodacom on the same day (14 October 2025), seeking clarification and demanding three specific, non-negotiable items:
  1. Full Refund of all unauthorized debit deductions processed over the past six months.
  2. Written Confirmation detailing the full terms and implications of the 'Red Flexi Zero' contract conversion.
  3. Voice Recording(s) of my conversation(s) with their consultant(s) relating to this matter.

Status (31 October 2025)
Despite this direct and professional request, Vodacom has provided no reply, no action, and no communication since my email of 14 October 2025. The unauthorized deduction occurred for the sixth time in October 2025.
Call for Action
I formally call upon Vodacom to immediately cease all unauthorized billing and provide a full refund of all incorrectly deducted amounts. Furthermore, I require the requested written confirmation of the contract conversion and the voice recordings without further delay.
This matter has been formally escalated to the National Consumer Commission (NCC) and ICASA. Failure to resolve this dispute and deliver the requested documentation and refund promptly will result in pursuit of all regulatory and legal options.
