4 months of headaches, stress, money and time wasting

I have had the worst few months with Vodacom.

It started on the 8th of May when I upgraded my phone online. The phone was delivered a few days later, with the wrong size sim card. I spent hours phoning several different departments, being sent from one to the other and back again, when finally someone gave me some advice. I was told to buy a new sim and submit my slip for a full refund. I sent the email very soon after that, and heard nothing. I resent the email recently, and was refunded, minus VAT. So I still had to pay some of that myself.

Then while I was overseas in June, my 3 week old phone stopped working - a problem with the screen. I just had to deal with not having a phone until I got back. I took it to Canal Walk for repaires and went to collect it a week later. Three days after that it stopped charging. I drove to Canal Walk for the third time, paying for parking again and dropped it off. Two weeks later I drove back and collected it. (Current parking fees total: R40)

I took it home, put it on charge, and it still didn't work. I then took it back AGAIN. Three weeks later I collected it. (6x 40km trips to Canal Walk and R60 in parking). It now works. I spend three hours of my time on Friday night reinstalling all my contacts and apps (on wifi, which is relevant for what comes next) as they have formatted my phone while it was being repaired.

Today, two days after I got my phone back, I noticed that I didn't have any aitime left. I get R200 on the first, and it is onlt the 5th, so I phone customer services to find out why. I spend 20 minutes on hold the first time and 10 mins on hold the second time, and am told I used it on data. I don't use that much data in such a short time, and my phone tells me that I only used 2.6MB since Friday night. So apparently, I used R200 worth of airtime in two days, which I have NEVER done before. The operator treats me like I am stupid and tells me all smart phones use background data. I have so many systems in place to prevent that happening. I'm told they'll give me an itemised bill for R22. I refuse to spend more money and ask for a supervisor, who tells me that some app I've never heard of or used, called Vlive, has used all my data. I have never even seen it app or used it. The supervisor tells me she'll log a complaint that will be dealt with in 7-14 working days. She says she'll switch off the Vlive so it doesn't happen again.

Then, suddenly my internet is not working. ANOTHER call to Vodacom, where they tell me that she accidentally switched off the my data capabilities as well when she turned off the Vlive.

I actually cried I was so frustrated after all this. It has been never-ending. So much time, money and energy has been wasted. And they just don't seem to care. I am exhausted...
