4 months and no service.
1) I sign up for a Vodacom FTTH contract in May.
2) it takes over a month to receive the lte interim solution. I had to send multiple messages and make multiple phone calls to get this done.
3) I spend the next 3 months emailing and phoning Vodacom asking what’s going on with my fiber installation.
4) on Saturday the 27th of August a consultant tells me that “scheduling” will be in contact with me to schedule an installation in the coming week.
5) NO ONE CONTACTS ME.
6) at 1pm on Tuesday the 7th of August I get a call from an installer telling me that they want to do the installation now. I inform them that I’m at work and that no one from scheduling has contacted me about this appointment. I ask if we can schedule the appointment for 4pm if the same day and I’m told this will not be a problem.
7) at 3:50pm of the same day I sms the installer confirming that the appointment is still on.
My text:
Hi.
I'm just confirming that Vodacom will still be coming to do the installation.

I thought someone has called you already by now.. i am not sure let me find out. Sorry bout that
8 ) at 4:40pm I phone the installer to ask what’s happening. He informs me that the technicians have “run out of routers” and cannot do my installation.
9) at 4:48pm I call the Vodacom fiber help line and explain the problem I’m having. I’m told by the gentleman that he will speak to .org the scheduling manager and get back to me.
10) 6:11pm I receive a voicemail message from the Vodacom consultant informing me that a different scheduling person will contact me the next morning to resolve this issue. He also informs me that they have contacted the technicians that were meant to do my installation and that they said that the latest installation they will do is at 1pm, and that I refused to give an alternate time for the installation. No mention of the agreed apon 4:00pm appointment is made.
11) I call back to the fiber help line and request a call back from the original consultant.
12) at 6:40 pm I receive a call back from the original assistant. I inform him that I’m quite upset that the technicians made promises that they clearly had no intention of keeping. I voice my displeasure at the disgraceful lack of service I’ve received and request that a customer services manager contact me and explain how we ended up in this situation.
I began the process in May. It is now August and Vodacom is proving to me everyday that they have zero regard for their customers. I have been treated pathetically by the company and as of yet no body can tell me what went wrong with my FTTH. I have had to chase after Vodacom at every step. Most of my calls and emails go unanswered for weeks. And the answers I do get never materialize into actions. This is the worst service I have ever received and Vodacom has made no attempt to make things right.
