So for about 6 months I have been unable to connect to 3g or 4g on my Samsung S6 device.
I have on multiple occasions phoned the call centre who send me new settings to no avail.
I contacted Executive Sound in Bethal who sold me the phone and was told to phone my Standerton Branch as it would be more convenient seeing that I stay in Standerton.
If only it was! I took the phone to Hi Cell and firstly did a sim swop, after paying for nothing I was told that I simply had to do an update, to which I said, I have updated the phone every time I was prompted to and I have done several factory resets to no avail.
The response was that there are no stable lines in Standerton to which I said I did the updates in Bethal over Wi-fi when I visit my parents and lo and behold, Bethal apparently also does not have stable lines.
I was told that it would cost R200 for the update and I was more than willing to pay that amount if it worked.
I left the phone there and was phoned shortly after to be told the phone was fixed.
I gladly payed up and was on my way.
When I got to the office, I checked the phone and it still was not working.
I headed back, was not reimbursed for the R200 and was told that it was the settings and that they would fix the issue before the end of the day (Friday). At about 16:50 I phoned to enquire whether the phone was fixed, but they said they would phone me back as the ‘guy’ was not in the shop.
Needless to say, no call back and without a phone for the whole weekend. On Monday, I phoned and was told that I should come to the shop so they could give me a spare phone to use as they were going to send it off for repairs.
They gave me an Iphone 4s, but I soon realised that that was all they gave me, no charger or anything else.
Back to the shop we went, ‘guy’ browsed through a cupboard and gave me the box and apologised for the inconvenience as he forgot to give me everything. Got to the office opened the box, no charger only earphones.
Frustrated, I went back to the shop and collected the charger. Fortunately by now my phone was sent off so I expected that I would have it fixed soon or the phone would be replaced.
A week later I received a confirmation SMS that the phone was fixed and sent back to the shop and I would be notified when it arrived.
Another week without my phone went by so I phoned and was told ‘the guy’ was not in the shop he would phone me back.
Obviously I waited a few hours and then phoned ‘guy’ to enquire about my phone.
The phone was back and he was about to phone me to tell me. Went to the shop, picked up my phone and realised my UAG cover was missing.
Asked him for the cover and he said there was no cover. I emphasised that I gave him the phone as is as I was under the impression that I would receive it back the same day.
He said he is not calling me a ****, but that he did not have the cover and would look for it in the shop and notify me when he came across it.
He phoned my wife 15 minutes later and told her that he did find it and that I had to return to the shop to pick it up.
I in the meantime turned my phone on and realised that absolutely nothing was fixed and my phone was wiped completely.
(A heads-up would have been appreciated so I could back up valuable photos and contacts saved on the phone.)
I have not returned to the shop, my cover is still there, my phone is still not fixed and my warranty is almost expired. So I don’t know where to go or who to turn to next.
